Founder’s Internal Ops Scorecard

How strong is the internal side of your business really?

🧭 Why This Exists

You’ve got product momentum. Revenue’s growing. Maybe even headcount is picking up.

But behind the scenes, does your business actually have the structure to support what you're building?

This quick scorecard helps you assess where things are shaky, and where better people and ops systems could unlock serious time, trust, and scalability.

🧪 Score Yourself (1–5)

For each item, rate where your company stands:

1 = Total chaos

5 = Fully built and working consistently

👥 People & HR Systems

  • ☐ We have a defined hiring process, not just an ad hoc flow
  • ☐ We have a clear onboarding experience beyond day one
  • ☐ Team members know how performance is evaluated
  • ☐ Growth paths (or at least role expectations) are documented
  • ☐ We have up-to-date policies that reflect how we actually work

🧱 Operational Foundations

  • ☐ Our internal systems are documented and easy to hand off
  • ☐ Communication rhythms (standups, 1:1s, async) are intentional
  • ☐ We have clarity on who owns what (no dropped balls)
  • ☐ We track work without relying on Slack memory or constant check-ins
  • ☐ We’ve identified key “fire risk” areas and have basic systems in place

🧮 Your Total Score

  • 40–50: Solid structure. You’re probably fine-tuning now.
  • 25–39: Growth is outpacing internal systems. Focus here will pay off fast.
  • Under 25: You’re scaling on top of instability. Let’s fix that before it breaks.

🎯 What This Points To

If your score’s lower than you’d like, that’s normal. Most founders don’t build this side of the business early on—until it starts costing them.

That’s where I come in.

I help you build or clean up the foundational HR and internal systems that support real growth.
